Report of the Adar Poonawalla Clean City (APCC) Cleanliness Drive Organised by Adar Poonawalla Clean City (APCC) in association with Viman Nagar Resident's Association VNRA and Symbiosis Viman nagar Campus

On the auspicious occasion of the 72nd Independence Day celebrations, the VNRA/VNWC and some social activity groups of Viman nagar have planned for a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, tree plantation, foot path maintenance and other socially relevant activities on Tuesday, 14th Aug, 2018 from 7.30 am onwards for about 2-3 hours in Viman nagar.

Under the guidance of the Director SCMS,P Dr Adya Sharma, Initiative Club of SCMS, Pune extended their support to the cause of cleanliness by actively participating in the initiative whose objective is to improve solid waste management in Pune and make our city cleaner and greener. As a part of this initiative, Viman Nagar Resident's Association in collaboration with Symbiosis Viman Nagar Campus organised a cleanliness drive to clean the areas of Viman Nagar. The objective of this event was to create awareness about sustainable recycling of dry and wet waste and contribute our part to keep the sidewalks clean.

25 Students of SCMS, P reported at the venue at 7: 30 am on the 14th. They undertook a pledge to keep the city clean and green. Well equipped with gloves and masks, they picked up dry waste on the streets and sidewalks. All students carried placards with slogans in Marathi and walked the streets of Viman Nagar to raise awareness. The trash that was collected was then deposited with the APCC organizers to be sent for recycling. Students also helped in planting few saplings in the Viman nagar area. VNRA and the APCC organizers acknowledged and expressed their thanks to the students of SCMS for their participation.
