FAREWELL’16

The farewell for the batch of 2013-16 was held on 14th March, 2016. With a committee of 40 FYs and SYs headed by Yash Tandon, Yash Lunavat and Pragya Uppal, the event was built around the theme of Oscars. The event started with the closing ceremony of the Annual Prize Distribution 2016 in the SVC Auditorium at 5:15 P.M. wherein the following awards were given:

Best International Student- Vishal Keswani

Best Sportsperson (Male)- Samarth Minocha

Best Sportsperson (Female)- Hiba Faquih

Best Outgoing Student- Manaswita Agarwal

This was followed by speeches from Prof. Gowri Menon and Dr. Adya Sharma. Also, all the Class Representatives from the five sections of the TY batch were given photo frames as mementos. This was given out by Prof. Parimala and Prof. Neha Panackal. Various informal awards, based on polls conducted in the TY batch, were given out by various faculty members through the entire stretch of the programme. Each nomination was declared with a video. The TY batch mentor, Prof. Sameera Raaes, shared her thoughts with the entire batch along with the batch coordinator, Ms. Sangeeta Kadam.

Also the three performing clubs of SCMS, namely Encore, Dramebaaz and Step Up, charmed the audience with their performance. This was then followed by a video of the entire Student Council and a short speech from Sympulse’16 Executive Committee, followed by the vote of thanks by the Farewell Committee’16 Head. The event was wrapped by bursting the firecrackers at 8:30 P.M. and with the TYs posing all around for pictures.
