INDUCTION PROGRAMME 2019

24th – 29th June

Day 1

The first day of Induction Programme commenced with the screening of the SIU movie. It was followed by the Lighting of the Lamp accompanied by a soulful rendition by Dr. Ishita. Further, our Director, Dr. Adya Sharma felicitated our esteemed chief guest Mr. Gunjan Punjabi, an entrepreneur and alumnus of SCMS Pune. This was followed by the investiture ceremony where the newly appointed student council members and the placement cell members were presented with their badges. Along with this, the executive committee of Sympulse Fest was also felicitated.

Day 2

The second day began with the students assembled early in the morning, waiting eagerly to hear the words of a well-known toast master- Prof. Beena Mandrekar. This interactive session was thoroughly enjoyed by the students.

The post-lunch session was an extremely informative session as our esteemed ACCA speakers – Mr. Pillai Vivian and Mr. Jigar Jariwala enlightened the students with thorough knowledge regarding the ACCA certification.

Day 3

The final day of the induction programme gave the students an insight into the corporate world as the CEO of Beacon Enterprises, Mr. Bharat Nijhavan held an Interactive session with the students.

The second half of the session included our esteemed faculty, Dr. Yogesh Pisolkar sensitizing the students on waste management. This was followed by the most awaited session of orientation by the student council and introduction to the various clubs

Day 4

SIU Visit – Induction Week

A trip to Ambedkar museum and SIU was arranged for students of batch 2019-22. The first stop was at Babasaheb Ambedkar Museum, SB Road, Symbiosis Campus. After which students visited SIU, Lavale Campus, Where the Campus Administrator took an orientation.

Day 5

The last day of Induction Programme Week 2019 was concluded with the Outbound at Surya Shibir. Seven bus-loads of enthusiastic First-Years accompanied by the Council and volunteers left the campus at 7am and travelled a long and fun journey to the resort. The activities such as the Introduction, The Scavenger Hunt and The Outbound Dance were enjoyed by the new batch as well as the seniors which acted as an icebreaker and increased the interaction between all the students.

The buses departed the resort post Lunch with a feeling of togetherness and bonding having thoroughly enjoyed the time at Surya Shibir.

Session on Gender sensitization

A session on gender sensitization was organised for students on 29th June 2019 where Ms. Renuka Mukadam made students aware of the various aspects how we look at our fellow students when comes to different gender. Ms. Renuka enlightened students about their responsibilities and how to be sensible towards the opposite gender.
