Symbiosis Contingent has been awarded the first prize in Youth Rally Carnival (Pune Youth festival-Jatan by PMC)

On Saturday, 13th February, 2016, Jatan; Pune Youth Festival was organised by the Pune Municipal Corporation. Symbiosis International University took part in this festival, for which our institute, SCMS along with the Symbiosis School of Commerce and Arts took active participation.

This event highlighted the cultural diversity that exists amongst the youth and the colleges within Pune, itself. The theme chosen was symbolic of how unity exists amongst diversity. The rally began at FC Road at 3:30 pm and went on for about two hours till Shaniwarwada Fort, where a cultural competition was organized. Symbiosis School of Commerce and Arts had put on a show for the same, and our International Cell consisting foreign national students also enthusiastically participated.

SCMS represented different variants of states like Bihar, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Goa and Punjab. 36 represented 6 states in their traditional attire specific to the state. There were also approx. 140 students from SCMS taking part in the rally apart from the state representatives. These students were color coordinated and dressed in red and black representing the Symbiosis colors.

Col. (Retd.) S M Joshi, Dr. Parimala Veluvali and Dr. Satyendra Patnaik were in charge of guiding us throughout the organization of the event. Also present at the event were Prof. Nishant Khandelwal, Prof. Soma Kulshrestha, Mr. Angelo, Prof. Paramjeet Kaur and Prof. Sushil Mavale, Mrs. Sonali & Ms. Rupal who provided constant support.

The event was a success with Symbiosis bagging the first prize in the competition.
